This year, we unite under the overarching theme of "Fostering Effective Procurement Systems for Sustainable Development in Africa," a pivotal topic in our collective pursuit of progress and prosperity.
In Africa, the importance of robust procurement systems cannot be overstated. These systems serve as the backbone of sustainable development, enabling us to allocate resources efficiently, promote transparency, and uphold accountability. Conference 2024
The International Transparency and Accountability Conference (ITAC) 2024 seeks to address the critical issue of enhancing procurement systems in Africa. With procurement accounting for a significant portion of national budgets across the continent, the need for effective procurement systems has never been more pressing.
In 2024, ITAC will focus on "Fostering Effective Procurement Systems for Sustainable Development in Africa," emphasising enhancing transparency and accountability throughout the procurement lifecycle.
This conference aims to bring together international experts, policymakers, practitioners, and scholars to explore challenges, best practices, and strategies for improving procurement processes in African countries.

The ITAC 2023 conference aims to explore the opportunities and challenges associated with accountability for climate change action, and to identify strategies for strengthening inancial accountability mechanisms at the national and international levels. This year’s ITAC theme will be on Strengthening Accountability for Climate Action’.
It is an accepted fact that climate change represents a significant global challenge that requires urgent and ambitious action. Addressing climate change challenges requires significant financial resources and investments, both from public and private sources.
